HAITI RELIEF: WE NEED YOUR HELP URGENTLY
This is a historic disaster," said UN spokesman Elisabeth Byrs, whose
own organisation has lost 36 local staff in the earthquake. "We have never
been confronted with such a disaster in the UN memory. It is like no other."

Khalsa Aid is responding to this terrible disaster by providing as much
assistance as possible, we have linked up with a London based Haitian
organisation to make sure the relief materials reach the most needy. WE NEED
YOUR HELP !

We need regional Relief Coordinators to liaise with Gurdwaras to organise
collection of these essential items and fundraise. We will organise the
transport of the collected items to London.

We have an opportunity to inform the world that we care and the message of
Sarbat Da Bhalla is FOR THE WHOLE HUMANITY.


We need the following urgently to promote hygiene:We need buckets or
similar size containers *with lids * from stores such as B &
Q/Tesco/Homebase etc and fill them with *new* items such as:

* baby wipes*
* or wet wipes,*
* soap, (bars only )*
* washcloths, (facecloths )*
* toothpaste, toothbrushes,*
* combs and brushes (Do not include shampoos or any materials that could
leak in transit. )*
* flip flops,*
* sleeping bags ( available in Tesco around £7 ?) *
* tape ( all types ) *
*and torches with batteries packed separately..*

** We also need NEW blankets so the Sangat decide what they would like to
donate these items or cash.

The Buckets or containers can also be used for storage etc.
Khalsa Aid will purchase specialist items and ship them direct to Haiti.
